We are a family run business based in the small but homely village of Drumsurn, Co L/Derry. Our factory has been running since 1988. The potato powers have run down a few generations.

The company was founded in the 80s when Helen and Victor Semple sent their children out to the country roads of Ireland to sell potatoes far and wide – out of the back of vans and onto the sides of roads to all sorts of folks and families who knew a good potato.

The company started to grab the attention of many businesses and began flying out to local restaurants, takeaways, wholesalers, and other food outlets.

Fast forward 40 years, Jack Semple and his family have proudly upheld Semples. Millions of potatoes in their many varieties have passed through our factory doors and leave as fresh products on your plates.

Potatoes are what the people of Northern Ireland would call – a handlin’. Our specialised processing equipment can take the handlin’ right out of the potato – we chip/slice/crinkle-cut/ chunky/ skinny/ dice and blanch. Anything potato, we can do.

We have recently rebranded the company from V Semple & Sons to Semples and our aim is to get our top quality potatoes and products reaching as many plates as we can.
